Large Glass candlestick by Staffan Gellerstedt
Large glass candlestick designed by Staffan Gellerstedt for the Swedish manufacturer Pukeberg in the 1970’s. The uneven surface creates beautiful light effects during the day and more so at night when the candle is burning. Minor irregularities and air pockets add to the chic bohemian look and do not constitute defects.
Pukeberg was founded in Sweden in 1871 by C.W. Nystrom, who had previously worked at Kosta. It was bought by Arvid Bohlmark in 1884, and became part of AB Bohlmarks Lampfabrik in 1888. Pukeberg began producing decorative glass in the 1930's, and is still in production today. Designers who have worked at Pukeberg include Uno Westerberg between 1935 - 1978, Goran Warff 1958 - 1964, Ann Warff, Eva Englund 1964 - 1973, and Erik Hoglund during the 1970's.
