Peter Hayes (born 1946); a stoneware sculpture of a stylised head on stone base, height 21cm.

Born in 1946, Peter studied at Birmingham College of Art from 1961, before travelling extensively in Africa, where he worked with tribal village potters who inspired him with their exquisite work using very limited resources and tools. Peter then travelled through India, Nepal , Japan, Korea and New Mexico, embracing similar skills that he had witnessed in those countries. In 1982, Peter returned to the UK and set up a studio in Bath.

Peter's works are in many public, private and corporate collections in the UK and abroad
